Promote the Proper Role of Government: Teach the constitutional principles upon which our government was founded. Teach about how the government should work according to our founding fathers.
Teach how the Government Currently Works: Teach about how the government functions on each level. Provide a single place to research information on elected government positions and candidate filing qualifications. Highlight proposed legislation.
Encourage Political Activity: Get more people involved with politics on the local level. Encourage voter registration. Encourage all eligible voters to vote in each opportunity. Encourage participation in district caucuses, election primaries, and general elections. Encourage honorable people to run for office. Inform the public of when government positions come up for re-election, review current candidates, and current issues.
Federal Government of the United States
Edit
The US Constitution created a limited Federal Government in the form of a republic with specific enumerated powers. Ammendment #10 states: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
Article #1 of the Constitution established the Legislative branch of the Federal Government with power vested in a Congress consisting of a Senate and a House of Representatives.
Article #2 of the Constitution established the Executive branch of the Federal Government with power vested in a President and Vice President.
Article #3 of the Constitution established the Judicial branch of the Federal Government with power vested in one Supreme Court and such inferior courts as Congress may establish.
"A primary object...should be the education of our youth in the science of government. In a republic, what species of knowledge can be equally important? And what duty more pressing...than communicating it to those who are to be the future guardians of the liberties of the country?" -- George Washington
State Government
